Snap-Dome : About Us

Started as Lamina Keyboards  Ltd. in 1979 by two brothers, Nick and Maurice Morley, the business was originally set up to manufacture Membrane Keyboards.  However, the sole supplier of high quality domes at that time was located in the U.S.A. and it was decided that, to ensure continuity of supply that Lamina Keyboards would need to manufacture its own domes.  This business has grown every year and in 1986 it was decided that Snap Dome Products could supply any customer who required high quality domes - even Lamina's competitors.

We now have three manufacturing plants producing many millions of domes used in every conceivable application, from thermostats to keyboards and beyond.

We succeeded due to our attention to detail, the personal level of service which ensures that problems, should they arise, are rapidly sorted out, and our commitment that every customer no matter how big or small gets exactly the product required, on time and at a competitive price.

Personnel:

Managing Director:                 Nick Morley             Over thirty years experience in manufacturing.  Degree in Production Engineering.  Married with 3 children.  Hobbies include water colour painting and Koi carp breeding. Look out for links to fishy sites.

Production Manager (UK):       Robert Salmon            Worked his entire life in companies involved in high precision stamped metal parts.  Knows more about burrs than anyone else on the planet.   Married with 1 child.  Hobbies include cross country running. The slimmest, by far,  of this quartet.

Production Manager (Germany): Robert Steiger            The other half of the two Bob's (or for those customers with a long memory - half a florin).  Has again worked for precision stamping companies for what must seem like a lifetime.  Has four children and apparently very few hobbies - apart from his love of his three ancient  Mercedes, walking in remote forests and making high calorie deserts.
